Poesia / All'orizzonte estremo (On the far horizon).

All’orizzonte estremo trabocca
lo skyline cenere-argento
dal panno liso delle fronde.

Raccolgo un tête-à-tête
di luci e ombre.

Più in basso la pazienza dei filari-
infisse-croci nella mia campagna.
Un corvo sbuca tra le stoppie.
Si libra. Abbozza chiazze sul selciato.

La sera dell’Autunno che s’inoltra
mesce la pioggia come vino biondo.

≈ ≈

On the far horizon emerges
the silver-grey skyline
of a threadbare fabric of fronds.

I catch a tête-à-tête
between light and shade.

Further down, the patient rows
like crosses driven into my countryside.
A crow jumps out of the stubble.
Takes flight. Leaves shadows on the ground.

The advancing autumn night
pours rain like blond wine.
